Boss Chick Corner: The Norish Girl

(This post is the first in a series of what I hope is many on the subject of the artistic, vision-driven businesswomen who surround me.)

I make it a point to try and support women led businesses above all else. I'm a woman running two small businesses myself, so I understand what it's like to struggle while attempting to get a venture you're passionate about off the ground. When these businesses are run by creative acquaintances of mine, I am all the more eager to show my support. That's why I was ecstatic when my Instagram friend Heather decided she would take her crochet skills to market and open her own shop. In the short time that her shop has been open, The Norish Girl has turned out products such as face scrubbies, farmer's market bags, eye pillows, and the standard beanies. It was this clutch, however, that compelled me to take a closer look.

The above photo was the first glimpse I had of the "Pink Lemonade Clutch" After the last few months of embracing minimalism and the clutch life, I knew I had to work to grow my collection. This coupled with my vow to support more of my friends who are artists and other admired crafters in 2017, I knew I needed this piece!

In order to debut the piece, I had to style an outfit that accented its bright colors, summer inspiration, and functionality. What resulted was a colorful paragon of pattern mixing. Just look at how well the floral pattern on my top matches the fringe on the clutch! It was meant to be. Throughout the day, the clutch was the perfect, unobtrusive accent to my look. I was able to fit my cell phone, lip gloss, wallet, headphones, and more in this ideally sized accessory. Right now, The Norish Girl's repertoire is expanding regularly. Her Instagram is full of hints having to do with upcoming projects and inspiration relating to what's to come. If you're interested in ordering one of her current pieces or want to talk to her about a one-of-a-kind product, you can visit her Etsy.
